ATMOSPHERIC SERVICES

Projects for the determination odor and/or VOC emissions in industrial plants and environmental infrastructures

It must be taken into account that, in order to accurately determine the atmospheric emissions in the event that they present a certain variability (for example, when considering improvement and, if applicable, treatment solutions) it is often not sufficient to collect information from regulatory inspections, and it will be necessary to design detailed characterization studies.

Evaluation of third-party odor and air emissions study reports

We have the expertise and technical capacity to carry out evaluations of the reports of atmospheric emissions studies carried out by third parties, in order to confirm or modify the conclusions expressed in them and provide convenient advice to clients on the corresponding significance.

Application of advanced "on-line"/"in-situ" determination systems of pollution caused by reduced sulfur compounds (RSC), odors and/or VOCs

Regarding the characterization of the odor impact of installations such as WWTPs, waste bins, landfills, "rendering" plants, ... ATMOS-TEK is in a position to market systems capable of continuous analysis in emission or immission, in a speciated form, of up to 15 sulfur derivatives (such as: H2S, mercaptans, thioethers, ...) at the level of their olfactory thresholds, a feature that differentiates these systems from low-cost electrochemical H2S sensors.

In addition, emission and immission analyzers can also be supplied (which allow the determination of more than a hundred VOCs).

Design and implementation of networks of sensors to characterize pollution in immission

ATMOS-TEK is available to design, implement and manage the maintenance of low-cost immission networks for implementation in urban spaces, ports, ..., with the most suitable and reliable sensors adapted to each case.

Simulations and advanced modeling of atmospheric emissions from industrial facilities and environmental infrastructures (sanitation networks, WWTPs, landfills, composting plants, ...)

We have the ability to simulate and model the dispersion and impact of atmospheric emissions from different perspectives and with different goals:

  • Modeling the dispersion of atmospheric emissions from fixed and mobile sources
  • On-line, predictive, and retrospective modelling
  • Simulation of the visualization of plumes of atmospheric emissions
  • Demonstrative modeling of compliance with emission and immission limits
  • Stipulation of the risk associated with atmospheric emissions

Expert evaluation of treatment alternatives for atmospheric emissions of VOCs and odors

We have ample experience in evaluating the optimal requirements in order to design the best solutions for a comprehensive management of purification projects of air emissions of VOC and odors in industrial facilities and in environmental infrastructures (such as: WWTP, composting plants, ...).

Preparation of Odor Management Plans (OMP)

We can design Odour Management Plans adapted to the specific charecterisitcs and requirements of each facility. These Plans include:

  • Assessment of the risks of generating odor problems, contextualized in both normal and exceptional operating situations
  • The controls (operational and management) necessary to address the eventual odor impacts of the plant
  • Inspections and measurements (on-line or specific) to be carried out
  • The actions, contingencies and responsibilities regarding the existence of odor episodes and / or complaints
  • Systematic evaluation of the effectiveness of both the odor control systems and the management carried out by the plant

Management and communication with the environmental administration of incidents and/or episodes of atmospheric emissions (including those with odor implications)

ATMOS-TEK is able to advise and accompany its clients in their dealings with the administrations in  all aspects related to the requirements of atmospheric emissions and also in to the existence of eventual incidents and/or episodes (including odor problems).
